One of my favorite past times is chatting with my friends online about books. I started blogging to share my love of books with others. I joined Barnes and Nobles book club forums and Goodreads. I love all genres, but my favorite are paranormal mysteries and post-apocalyptic/dystopian. Did I mention I am a series addict..in all genres!!! I recently created a Facebook page, Google+ page, Tumblr, Twitter and Pinterest account. My children think this is hilarious, but I love meeting new people who share a passionate interest in books. My next adventure will be Youtube book reviews!
For years I only read historical fiction and mainstream authors like Stephen King, Koontz, and Nora Roberts. I was really sick one year and bedridden. My husband began bringing me books from the library. I was working my way through Amanda Quick's historical romances when he brought home a book called Second Sight. The first book in the Arcane Society series. I looked at it and went paranormal?.woo-woo? What? But guess what..I loved it (yep, now I have read them all) and from there I decided to step out of my comfort zone and began reading new authors and new genres..It's a love affair that is still going on.. I have read books and series by such authors as Kim Harrison, Patricia Briggs, Kat Richardson, Mira Grant, Dan Wells, Justin Cronin, Lauren Oliver, Jim Butcher, Patrick Rothfuss, Karen Marie Moning, Darynda Jones and many more.
While I will always be a cover whore, I no longer limit myself to one genre. Recently, I discovered the Young Adult genre and for those of you in your 30's and on up..this is not the genre I knew as a teen. The tales are fast paced and wickedly good.
